Information for newcomers to this site!
by greenglove ~ May 22nd, 2009. Filed under: are you new to this site?.Welcome to the running of the UWMC Team Transplant website!
First off, if the post or comment you are viewing has a continuation symbol, “…”,
you need to click on the purple heading to view the entire post/comment (the purple title of the post turns lighter).
Here’s a few areas that you might want to explore:
In our main navigation menu, which is below the rotating banner of our team members, we have included drop-down menus that give you information about our team, it’s mission, press coverage, ways to support us, and other organizations that offer insights into organ transplantation and how you can become involved as an organ donor.
In the left sidebar, below the spotlight paragraph (most images are hotlinks to expanded coverage), there is a list of categories to which members have submitted replies regarding a variety of topics. Some comments may have a protection feature which allows members with a password to view them. For these, simply type in the password and this will enable you to, for example, open topics like practice schedules or forms relating to team transplant membership. Also, if a post or comment has a continuation symbol “(…)”, click on the heading of the post/comment to follow the rest of the paragraph. If there are additional comments on a post, you can view these by clicking on the words “(number of) comments.”
In the right sidebar, below the search panel and the practice week image, there is a list of pages displayed as a hierarchy of the main navigation menu described above. We also present a paragraph on the latest press release at the bottom of the sidebar.
For those members wishing to contribute to the “blog”, find a topic that you want to reply to and if you are already logged in, type in your comment in the box provided, click on “submit”, and your reply will be moderated and appear soon thereafter. If you are not logged in you can either do so by signing in with your username and password, or, you can register your name and e-mail and you’ll receive a password shortly by return e-mail. If you wish to change your password from the one provided, you need to click on your username after the words “logged in as” (which appears just above any reply box) to view your profile and change your password to a more memorable one. Now that you have created a username/password, you can submit comments as above. Once you have supplied either your password to view protected posts and/or logged in to have the capability to submit replies, both of these passwords remain active for ten days (see “privacy policy” for more information).
