Team Transplant, UWMC

Steve Reynolds! Steve and, his wife,  Jeannie, have been fixtures on the Team Transplant scene now for 5 years and have been two of our most committed members bringing a rock-solid sense of stability to the team.  Their off-beat sense of humor has also provided some of my dearest Team Transplant memories …Remember the Sony “Wok” Man costume; the ”Don’t be a Hill-O-Weenie” mantra used during our Thursday afternoon hill workouts in the fall;  the Team Transplant poem; pictures of the “Green Guy” in Tuscany…all brainchilds of the Reynolds.  In case you don’t know the Reynolds, Steve was working our water station last weekend while Jeannie was out on the course training.   It’s always a great comfort to know that our water station is in such dedicated, capable hands!  Thanks for helping out…and for making Team Transplant such a fun experience for us all!

Rachel Lyons…Rachel, one of our nurses here at UWMC, is training for the full Seattle Rock’n Roll Marathon.   Last Saturday out at Leschi, she successfully completed her firstever attempt at 20 miles!   She had some great support from Saturday morning training partners, Jennifer Herlihy and Lynne Sloan, for the first 12 miles and then followed with a solo effort for the final 8.  Great job, Rachel…You’re right on track.  Just hold on….The taper is coming soon!
