Team Transplant Starts Up Next Week (August 10/15)

Hey everyone!

Finally!  Here they are...All of the forms for the 2009-2010 Team Transplant season! Attached you’ll find the team registration form, race entry, FAQ sheet, and fee sheet.   Remember all forms must be submitted before your first practice or before the last day to sign up which is on Sept. 7th. Transplant recipients will need updated physician release forms (click on forms on left side bar to print out or download).

I will be sending out the training schedules very very soon. Training will begin the week of Aug. 10th, and our first group practice + KICK-OFF Breakfast will be on August 15th.    We’re still deciding on the location.  Time will be the usual 8:00am.

I will also be sending out apparel information very very soon…Shirts (which will be long-sleeve and a lovely foliage green color) are separate from the membership fee this year.  We are also considering sweatshirts as well as reflective vests, and of course, we still have plenty of hats (both the fleece and brim versions) as well as socks available.  Post-race party information will also be sent out at a later date.

So get your pens out (or palm pilots or i-phones or open up facebook)…Here is an initial list of important dates to mark down on your calendars:

* Monday, Aug. 10th…Training starts (plan to get schedules out you to by this weekend!)
* Saturday, Aug.15th…8:00am, location to be announced…First Group Practice and KICK-OFF Breakfast!
* Thursday, Sept. 3rd….5:30pm, Green Lake dirt track, first evening practice
* Saturday, Sept. 5thFORMS ARE DUE!!
* Sunday, Oct. 4th….Issaquah Salmon Days 10k
* Tuesday, Nov.24th…Team Transplant Spirit Day!
* Sunday, Nov. 29th….Seattle Half Marathon + Post-Race party!

Another event to consider…

The American Liver Foundation Walk for Life is Sept. 20th.
Wondering if a Half Marathon in Seattle in November is right for you?
Consider this…from Olympic marathoner Dathan Ritzenhein’s training blog….“Standing there won’t make it stop raining.”
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns…Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you on the 15th!
Happy training…and stay hydrated!
