* Beat the Bridge, 8k Run/5k Walk (Sunday, May 16th): http://www.beatthebridge.org/site/PageServer
* Capital Cities, Half Marathon/5-miler (Sunday, May 16th): http://capitalcitymarathon.org/ (I think we have about 4 or 5 people so far who are taking this option. Let me know if you are interested in connecting with them in Olympia!)
* March of Dimes—March for Babies (Saturday, May 15th)… http://www.marchforbabies.org/ UWMC is putting together a team for this 5k walk at Seattle Center. Contact Sarah at sarkoosh@uw.edu if you’re interested in this option.

Volunteering…I’ve had many people offer to help with support on the day of the race. We do not have an official water station at this event but can certainly use help at the finishline and along the way.. If you’re interested, please let me know and we’lll start putting a plan together!

We strongly encourage you to participate in Beat the Bridge, a local 8k run/5k Walk, or for those of you closer to Olympia, the Capital City 8k, as a way to test how far you’ve come since the beginning of the season. For those of you have never been in a big race before, this is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for what to expect on June 26th!

Beat the Bridge, Capital City Events!

Sunday, May 17th…Beat the Bridge or Capital Cities 8k…Speaking of losing track of time and being distracted…these events are coming up very quickly! They are scheduled into our training to give you a chance to gain some race experience before the actual half marathon and to give you a way to measure your progress. For BTB, walkers should probably sign up for the 4-mile family walk. Note: We will not have practice that Saturday (May 16th).
